Welcome to Philips Automobiles of Distinction and Philips Auto Tech, both proudly part of the Philips Motor Company Inc. family.

Philips has been serving the Columbia, South Carolina community since 1983, when founder George Philips began selling luxury automobiles at our current location. Early on, George recognized that exceptional vehicles deserved equally exceptional service. That vision led to the opening of our 14-bay Bosch Service Center in 1986, setting the foundation for the full-service automotive company we are today.

Over the decades, we’ve grown to sell and service a wide range of cars, SUVs, and trucks. While we continue to specialize in high-line vehicles—particularly BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Lexus, and Volvo—our customers’ trust inspired us to expand. Time and again, customers asked if we could also service their family’s Hondas, Toyotas, Fords, Chevrolets, and more. Our answer was simple: yes.

That commitment turned Philips into a true one-stop shop, capable of handling nearly all automotive needs under one roof. We invest in manufacturer-level software, tools, and training so we can deliver dealership-quality service—without the dealership hassle.
